As Chicago continues to invest in state-of-the-art public safety infrastructure, Candor Electric is proud to play a key role in the next phase of the Joint Public Safety Training Campus. The new Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Building – Phase 3, located at 701 N. Kilbourn Avenue, represents the city’s continued efforts to provide world-class facilities for first responders.

Candor Electric was selected to install the complete electrical infrastructure for this facility—bringing its deep expertise, skilled IBEW workforce, and decades of Chicago project experience to one of the city’s most impactful developments.  

Building the Backbone of Modern Emergency Training

The EMS Building will serve as a cornerstone for hands-on emergency medical training, simulation exercises, and communications readiness for Chicago’s Fire and EMS departments. Candor’s scope includes a wide range of electrical and technology systems vital to the building’s performance and safety.

• Key components of Candor’s work include:
  Power Distribution Systems – Custom-built main switchboards and network distribution panels designed to fit the facility’s specialized electrical rooms.
• Lighting and Lighting Controls – Installed per AECOM’s electrical design to meet high performance and energy efficiency standards.
•  Fire Alarm and Safety Systems – Integrated life-safety systems following all applicable city and PBC specifications.
• Security Infrastructure – Installation of card access, CCTV, and intercom systems to ensure secure and seamless operation throughout the campus.
•  Structured Cabling and Data Systems – Connectivity infrastructure to support communication, training simulation, and data transmission across multiple learning environments.
•  Audio-Visual Integration (Alternate Scope) – Future-ready systems designed to support interactive training spaces and advanced EMS simulation labs.
